| Once upon a time... There were a few
disabled people down here in the South that felt very isolated and forgotten. Having
numerous skills and experiences in engineering and helping the disabled we decided to
share it and form D.R.A.G.
We are a club that is open to anyone whatever their ability/disability.
We offer a membership, which includes valuable info, on which financial benefits you can
receive. Home and hospital visits would hopefully ease your worries and encourage you back
on your bike.
There is always someone who is willing to offer a listening ear and able to give moral
support.
There's a well-equipped workshop with an experienced and sympathetic tutor to help you
build or adapt a suitable machine for your new needs.
So don't lose hope if you love motorcycling or want to even venture into learning to ride,
give us a ring or come to a meeting near you. |
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
In addition to the support and guidance already mentioned, we also aim to:
- Set up a network of support throughout the South.
- Research information, i.e. Support groups, benefits, grants and schemes, which will
increase the information that we can offer.
In the long term we aim to:
- Provide grants / loans for riders to assist them in having their vehicle adapted /
repaired to enrich their lives.
- To obtain an approved base of legal advisors and engineers.
- To obtain Mobility status for bikes and trikes with the government agencies.
- To provide an assessment centre for members with the Health Service and Rider Training
Centres, to get riders back in the saddle.
